Hi everyone! I would just like to ask for your advise especially those Filipino nurses. I am a private duty nurse here in Qatar for 2 years now and I am planning to go back to the Philippines by January and work in JCI accredited hospitals there. My question is, do you think it is a good idea for me to write in my resume that I have my experience here in Qatar as a private nurse or not? Thank you very much for your response

while you can include your experience as a private duty nurse in your CV for your application in our country, there probably won't be any much bearing in terms of relevant experience.
That means you would be considered an entry level nurse once you are short listed for a post in any hospitals as a staff unlike those who worked in clinical settings before.
Those who previously had hospital experiences could be hired as charge, head nurses or training officers depending on the vacancy.
Thank you for the information but honestly, I do not mind if ever hospitals will consider me as an entry level nurse. Because I believe I have so much to learn and it has been 2 years ever since the last time I went on duty on a clinical setting. The reason why I asked for an advise regarding my situation it is because I was thinking maybe hospitals will not consider my application because maybe they will think I will come back here in Qatar for some time after acquiring enough years of experience there in the Philippines. Thank you for the enlightenment though. í ½í¸„
You're very much welcome. It's okay. We all have reasons behind our choices and going back here to apply for a hospital based job despite your experience abroad is a very strong statement of your convictions and aspirations.
I'm sure the head hunters would understand that and would never in any way jeopardize your prospective offer. Just pass the screening process and you are good to go. Interview rarely affect an applicant's application outcome in hospitals.
Thank you í ½í¸Š So far I have only submitted my CV via jobstreet to SLMC QC Branch. I am hoping they will really consider my application despite the fact that I am still here. Fingers' crossed. Hehe.
Let's keep our hopes high! :) if you can have someone in the Philippines submit your CV and other basic credentials personally to their HR office, I think you would have higher chances of getting a response from them.
Could not agree with you more Yes, I actually thought of that too because it crossed in my mind that I do have former college close classmates who works in certain hospitals in Manila. I am really hoping to get in as soon as I arrive there in the Philippines. :)
