Hi! I am a girl who will be graduating from high school soon, and I got into 5 year accelerated program for pharmacy and UC nursing school.
pharmacy school is $150,000 more expensive than nursing school.
So for this pharmacy school, after 5 years, I will become a pharm D graduate. people say pharmacists are super saturated and hard to find jobs, but others say nursing is a hard job.
My head hurts so much from thinking, and I wanted to hear other's opinions
Please help me!!!!

Both are hard jobs. I just graduated from an accelerated nursing program. So, I had the whole nursing experience in 1 year. It was difficult, but only because it was 1 year. If it were spread out to the typical 2 years (with 2 of undergraduate stuff so technically 4 yrs) it would have been more manageable and less stressful. My fiance is in pharmacy school and he has twice the workload that I ever had. Both programs are definitely stressful so be prepared either way you go. With pharmacy it is true that it is super saturated especially in the northeast and the west coast. Pharmacy does pay better than nursing, but it is also equally if not more stressful at times depending on if you work retail or clinical. Pharmacy and nursing are also very different- nursing is more patient interactive while pharmacy depends on where you choose to work in (clinical, retail, industrial, business, manufacturing, etc). With nursing too you can always advance your career and go the NP route or get your DNP or get certified in different areas. In the end it's your choice.
Thank you so much for your reply!!!!
I really appreciate it :)

Pharmacy is not nearly as saturated as some areas as nurses. Plus, they make way more money. They start in retail at 85-90k. That is fresh out of school. I know there actually was a shortage a few years ago when they changed the graduation requirements. I thought it went from 5-6, but maybe it was 4-5. You will get way in more depth especially with chemistry, math, and obviously pharm.

Besides the greens or how long you will be in school, which pathway truly fascinates you ? Is there one that makes you really excited to study about and want to take part in for a long time? Really try to answer those questions honestly from within.
