Hello everyone! this is my first post, I am currently studying to take the nclex, i take it on the 30th of this month!yikes! I am having trouble with pharmacology, there are SO MANY meds, and SO MANY s/e that we need to know! how about we name meds that we think are most likely to be on nclex, and say the most important facts about that specific med! I start.....
DIGOXIN- cardiac glycoside
*used for heart failure, atrial fibrilation
* therapeutic level: .5-2 ng/ml
* if levels are above 2ng then toxicity is expected watch for anorexia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, blurred vision, yellow green halos, brady
* chances of toxicty increase if patient has hypokalemia
* take apical pulse, if lower than 60, hold med.
