i need some help. im taking my first semester nursing classes and they are all going great:up:, except pharmacology:crying2:. i study for many hours, but when it comes time for the test i end up failing. we've already had three tests, i've fail the last 2, and there is three left. if i don't change my test scores around i'm going to fail pharm. does anyone know of a book or something that would be useful to help me pass my exams? any help would be greatly appreciated!!

here is a link that has some pharm files:
https://allnurses.com/forums/f205/pharmacology-help-140434.html (scroll down to post #4---there are 3 pharm study guides that you can download)
http://web.utah.edu/umed/courses/year2/pharm/study/ (these are pharm study aids also)
also its good to learn the suffixes to most classifications, most of the time when you learn the prefixes and suffixes you can pretty much figure the type of drug it is. here is some to get you started.
caine= local anesthetics
cillin= antibiotics
dine= anti-ulcer agents
done= opiod analgesics
ide= oral hypoglycemics
iam= antianxiety agents
micin= antibiotics
nium= neuromuscular blocking agents
olol= beta blockers
ole= anti-fungal
oxacin= antibiotics
pam= antianxiety agents
pril= ace inhibitors
sone= steroids
statin= antihyperlipidemics
vir= antivirals
zide= diuretics
Wanted to add another link:

The student that started this thread made a pharm quiz website on her own and posted it for students to use! It is very worth checking out!
Good luck!
