Pharmacology Flashcards (drug cards)

Attached are 12 Word documents which I made when I took pharmacology. All the information was based on the ATI study guide since that constituted the final exam in our class. Nursing Students Student Assist Article

These cards are amazing!! Since these were 3 x 5 index cards, I bought the Avery 3 in a sheet printable index cards. But, I have not figured out a way to use the sheets. I can open, save, cut and copy all the files! However, no way to print them. They are coming up as 3 x 5 in word, has anyone printed them on a stock of actual 3 x 5 index cards?? Not sure how the back to back would work?? Also, maybe someone knows how to use the Avery 5388 template sheets? Thank you for your input.

I specifically made them to print on 3x5 index cards and that's what I did. I first printed all the odd-numbered pages. Then I flipped all the cards and printed the even-numbered pages. The faint circle was used as a hole-punch template so I could put them on rings.

To print them onto a template, you'd have to set your printer for multiple cards per page and get something like the following (printed to a PDF file for capture). I think just printing them to 3x5 index cards would be much easier since that's how I designed them.

Thanks so much! I did end up using traditional index cards and doing the odd, even printing. I have to enter ever page number individually which takes some time. I was worried that I would skip a number, but the nursing Gods were with me. I never knew that I could put a stack of index cards through my printer! The 3 sheet Avery product will have to be used for another time. Very appreciative of the information and your help!

Not that it matters for you but for anyone who might follow, you shouldn't have to enter the pages one at a time. At least w/ MS Word on a Windows machine, you can simply choose to print only the odd or even pages as shown below:

For the Apple-heads, I'm sure you can do it, too, but I haven't the foggiest idea how (given my loathing for all things Apple beyond the iPod)

Thank you!! I'm about to start Nursing school next semester and Pharm is the one class I'm extremely nervous about...I know it has been quite a few years since this was posted, but I'm sure it is still relevant!

Hey,

Just remember that pharmacology changes every year and even multiple times a year. Make sure your resources are up to date and always read. I'm in a DNP FNP program and I am taking advanced pharm now; MedScape, UpToDate, your pharm book, and this one book from B&N that is a good book to learn all the meds is helpful. I will get the name for you! Good luck!!

I just wanted to say thank you so so much. I am in my third year of nursing and we just started pharmacology and it is SO overwhelming. I have tried the pharmacology made easy book (which in my opinion not easy for me lol). And these are helping already. I, like you, like to help people out whenever I can and have already shared numerous of my digtial textbooks with my clinical groupies and close friends. Thank you so so much.

Such an amazing thing to share. I am finishing up with pharm. now and I needed a quick review of EVERYTHING for the final. This is such a life saver. Awesome, Thank-You Again So Much

Hi! I just printed your note cards. Quick question on medications affecting the nervous system for seizure disorders you have triangle symbols and I wasn't sure if that meant something or some typo? Starting pharm in a few weeks:) thanks for making these

Thank you so, so much for posting your work! This is so generous of you! I'm starting Level 3 of my ADN program (OB, Pedi, and Mental Health). The semester hasn't even started yet, and we're being bombarded with e-mails containing homework assignments to be done before day one. Drug cards are the bane of my existence! I only wish there were some way I could thank you!

On top of all this, I'm having to move during the first week! The move will save me a ton of money, and I'm very gratefull to the family friend who has offered to share her home with me, so I'm not complaining about that! Moving during a semester is just really difficult! Thank you, again, from the bottom of my heart!
