PGH nurses...Please help LTC question

I need to get a new job. LTC is where I'm looking. Please, Please Please let me know where to avoid. I'm mostly looking in the South Hills area. Love a 3-11 weekend shift. PM me if you don't want to post it here.

I'm just getting burned out at my current place. I realize no place is a bed of roses and there are good and bad at every place. I'm a hard worker, willing to learn and always help my coworkers and above all I'm there for my residents.

Any suggestions? How about the nonprofits in the area??

Hi Michelle, I hope to move back to Pittsburgh (from Philadelphia) in the next six months or so, and have the same questions as you. Did you get any help? I like my current facility (it is owned by Genesis, and I think that there are only two Genesis' in the area), even though it isn't a bed of roses *smile* since our DON is tough but fair. I hope to find 12 hour shifts, since I am working on my RN online.

Thanks, e

Yeah, I've looked at the rating sites before, but they don't give you the whole picture.

You can try Asbury Heights on Bower Hill RD. I worked there a while ago. Its non-profit and surprisingly pretty decent place to work. You should have no problem getting 3-11. Good Luck!
