PF - Danskos or Naot?

Nurses Uniform/Gear

Published

First off, I would like to say that I am not a nurse or nursing student. But I believe that nurses would be the experts to go to for advice on PF and shoes. Hope that's okay.

I have several pairs of Danskos in various styles but no Naots. Absolutely love Danskos. I also have Raynauds and find that they also help with that, as well don't hurt my arthritic big toe :dead:.

Anyway, in my position, I have to wear suits and some with skirts. So I need shoes that are a little more delicate looking than the clogs I prefer. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on which brand is better, Danskos or Naots. Not a small investment either way.

I will add that I have found that Merrills are very comfortable too.

TIA for any suggestions.

Go to a shoe store like The Walking Company or Nordstrom and have your feet measured. Then try on every shoe you might be interested in and some that the salesperson suggests that you think are gross. Walk around in those shoes for a few minutes. And then decide what fits YOU best. As a longtime Dansko fan myself, I've found that some of Danskos more "delicate" shoes are very comfortable; others not so much. But you're the best person to decide what works for you.

I vote for Naot hands down. The different lines have different fit. Once you find a line that fits you pretty well know that all the shoes in that line will fit you well, for instance the Shell line fits me great but not the others (like Koru) so much. I get a lot of compliments on my Naot mary jane shoes even with skirts. Keen is another brand that is very comfortable and stylish with a lot of toe room.

Other people swear by Danskos but I feel less stable in them.

But as Ruby Vee mentioned, go to a higher-end shoe store and talk with the staff there. They will be of immense help finding what works for you individually.
