I have little to no experience, but a pretty unique background outside of nursing. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to go about a personal statement essay? As far as how to outline it etc, is there a standard outline to follow?
I. Experience
II. Why nursing?
III. Why this school?
Any help would be appreciated...

Speak from the heart and try to be unique. Avoid things like I want to be a nurse because I care its too vague and don't write about how you want to be a nurse to get a job.
Maybe write about an experience you had with nurses like as a patient or when a family member was a patient if you don't have any experience in healthcare yourself. As to why nursing, did you have an ah-ha moment when you realized this was the path for you? I would research the school and integrate it's history and core values within the statement. Also post your brainstorms on here! That's what I've been doing.
Best wishes
