Perseverance pays off!!

I posted last week about being bummed about my online CNA class not happening this fall. Well this morning I did a search for online CNA classes and a local hospital has a program through a local CC. The class starts Aug 27th and the deadline is the 15th. I'm going to call today about it. It isn't online (which is why it was odd that it didn't come up when I searched for CNA classes in the Knoxville area). It is 3 days a week, then the clinicals are several days in October. I believe I can work my work schedule around it and if I can't then I'll call in. This is far more important than a crappy call center job.

Anyway, I just wanted to post this to those that told me not to give up. I didn't and it paid off!!!

That is so awesome! Congrats to you!

Thanks for the reply.

My husband isn't as optimistic. He thinks I'll be pushing it too close to be able to get there by 8. I underestimated the time it would take to get to the college. He says it's an hour in good traffic, I've never driven that way so I don't know. Tomorrow morning I'm going to do a trial run, drop my daughters off at school and drop my son off at daycare. If I get to the college by 8 then I'll register for the class. If not, how strict their tardy/attendance policy is.

I do have to say that I am anal about time, my husband thinks I'll give myself a panic attack every morning when I'm running late. He knows me way too well. He thinks I'm being too impatient but I've been waiting for the opportunity to go back to school for so many years, it's just out of reach and with a little bit of extra work I believe I can make it work. It's just for a month.

Gotta love hubbies that are right:p Hope all works out for you! As you said, it's just for one month!

I'm going to do a trial run tomorrow morning and see what time I get to the college. I called the college and apparently they have a few on the waitlist already. I asked her about the tardy and attendance policy and she said that more than one absence usually gets people too far behind and it is usually up to the student to communicate with the instructor. I told her that I was planning on doing an online CNA program so I'm not worried about getting behind. I'm hoping to talk to the instructor tomorrow to get a feel for the program and its requirements.

Wish me luck!!
