perpetual help college tuition

Hi. I just want to ask if anyone can help me.

How much is the tuition for nursing in Perpetual Help College Manila for 3rd year students? Is it really 60,000 pesos???

If you are in Manila, why don't you give them a call?

I'm sorry I know I am not qualified to answer your question but I graduated from Perpetual Help College-Manila in 1978. I remember during my time, if memory serves me right, my highest tuition was my first semester in my sophomore year because it included my uniforms. I paid (well, my mother did) P2,500 for that first semester. Yeah, I know that is ancient history for the young Filipino nurses currently in school.

The last time I was in Manila in December 2006 I passed by our "home" hospital on Laong-Laan Street and it was sad to see it remained shuttered, as it has been for a number of years now. I heard that PHC campus in Laguna is huge and busy.

I will be flying to Manila in a couple of weeks and most probably I will be passing by my old school and hospital. As always, seeing my old nursing school brings back a lot of memories. I'm proud to say that many of my batchmates in nursing school who immigrated to the U.S. managed to pass the RN board exam in the late 1970's or early 1980's.

I am not in the Philippines. That's why I'm asking. I just couldn't believe that tuition can go this high.

I'm not from Perpetual Help Manila but I checked it out for you and looks like the tuition fee for 2nd year students go for 30 to 40 thousand so yes, you can expect it to go up as much as 60 thousand for the third year because of the hospital duty. Students will need to pay affiliation fee to the hospitals causing such a high tuition fee.

I checked their web site but they don't advertise their tuition fees there. On their web site they listed their telephone numbers to call, therefore if you are serious about going to school there, the cost of a long-distance phone call is a good investment.

Judging from the pictures of the campus buildings on their web site, I can tell you that they have significantly expanded since I graduated from Perpetual Help College-Manila in 1978. (As a reminder, in the 1970's there were only about 40 schools of nursing in the entire Philippines as opposed to 300+ nowadays)

I can't vouch for their current quality of teaching, but when I was student nurse in the 1970's I believe that I was provided with a world class nursing education. At that time we were also affiliated with many hospitals in Metro Manila thus we were exposed to different hospitals, both private and public, and we took care of rich and poor patients.

Our clinical instructors in the 1970's had years of hospital experience, some of whom had worked in the United States. Many of my fellow batchmates are now registered nurses here in the San Francisco Bay Area, a testament to the good quality of nursing education we received from PHC.

As I have mentioned before, I will be flying back to Manila in less than two weeks time. If I find free time from my busy schedule, I will drop by their Manila campus and I will inquire about their tuition fees for you.

Thank you for all the replies! I'll be sending my cousin thru nursing in Perpetual Help. It's hard to get the number on the net but I finally got it from PLDT online yellow pages (duh!). As advised by Daly City RN, I called them and got the answer. Thanks!
