Per Diem with only 1 year exp?

I will be taking maternity leave in a few short months and do not see myself going back to work full time. My unit does not offer part time and per diem at my hospital requires two years experience. Any ideas where I can find per diem or part time work with only one year under my belt? I'm in the nyc area, westchester. I would be open to jobs outside the hospital too. I love my job (peds critical care) but full time is too much as a mom with two little ones.

Hi Colleen...I had just under a year of experience when I was hired at NYP-Hudson Valley Hospital in Peekskill. I know they are currently hiring per diems on their website but they don't have pets - just adults and maternity. Maybe give it a shot anyway? 3 days/month minimum including one weekend day. Can you let me know how much per hour did they offer you working per Diem in Hudson valley?

It was a low offer .... I think around $32 or $33. I turned them down. Working similar job per diem at WMC now for $52/hr
