Pensacola State College RN 2016

Published

Hi everyone, I've applied to Pensacola State College 2016 fall Nursing Program. I was just wondering if there was anyone else out there that has also applied for this program. I don't know much about the program and I would love to discuss it with someone!

I'm in the process of applying to the LPN program at PSC for January. Trying to find a study guide for the tests, but not sure about all of it. How did you do on the hesi?

The book I used to study for the HESI was called Admission Assessment Exam Review, Edition 3, by Elsevier. It's a great study tool because the book is made by the company that creates the questions for the HESI test, and it is almost an exact replica of what the test will look like. There is also an app that other people told me about after I had already taken the test and they said it was really helpful as well, I guess you would just go to the App Store and look up HESI A2. If you do get the book it is great for preparing you for every single subject except for the anatomy, definitely go online and try to find other resources for the anatomy portion. I just looked over my old anatomy notes. I scored

Anatomy: 84

Grammar: 88

Math: 90

Vocab: 92

Reading: 94

Awesome job! I'm studying now to take the PSB LPN test. The study guide they have in the bookstore just seems to be an overview on nursing entrance exams. I was going to apply to the RN program, but can't commit to being in school for 2 years, so hopefully, I can get into the program then bridge. How hard is the math? That's my biggest downfall. I have to take the LPN test and then the health related math.

Just make sure that you really brush up on your fractions. Adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions will be very important for the HESI math portion! But I'm not sure if we are talking about the same test here, the only test I've ever taken is the HESI A2 exam, I've never taken an LPN test or anything.

No, they are 2 different tests; I just figured the HESI is probably harder than the LPN test and figured if I studied that material, then I would be well prepared. I could be wrong. Did you go to psc previously? What semester are you hoping to start nursing?

Well I've never taken the LPN test so I'm not sure how similar they are. I'm sure if you type in LPN test into the search engine on this site there would be a ton of helpful forums that people have created when they were going through the the process of applying for the LPN program. And I have have never attended PSC, I applied to NWFSC and I am on the waiting list for their nursing program so Pensacola is my back up school if I don't make it into Northwest. I'm hoping to start this fall.

Does the Lpn to RN program wear the same uniforms as the RN students? If so is anyone giving theirs away? I'm the smallest size that they make.

Hi!

So it's a little over year since you've posted this. Did you get into the RN AS program on the first try? I'm planning on applying for next summer and I'm curious if it's a long waiting list. I live in Washington State and my husband and I are considering Florida for our next military orders. However, me getting into the RN program is a weighing factor. Thank you!
