Today, I received my Evaluation of Transferable Credits from PSU for their World Campus RN to BSN program. I cringed when I noticed most of my (New Jersey) community college credits were listed as "GEN" credits (ex. my Anatomy Phys. classes are showing as transferable under "Biol Gen, Anatmy & Phys. I and II"). PSU's Gen Ed requirement for their A&P courses are Mammalian Anatomy & Intro to Phys. / Phys. Lab. I am so confused and worried. I should be speaking with an advisor in the next week or two. I'll have to ditch the program if I find myself having to take a boat-load of courses all over again to meet the PSU Gen Ed requirements for the BSN program. I really don't want to do that. I was so looking forward to attending PSU.
Any PSU students there who have had experience with transferring their community college credits? How did it work out for you? How did you find working with your academic advisors?
Thanks!!

My classes transferred. Every single class! I just started in August I believe there are 9 nursing courses that I need. I'm taking 4 now and 4 in the spring. 1 in the summer. I will graduate August 2014 with the BSN. I went to the Community College of Philadelphia.
Thanks for your response and congratulations, Jayden8139! Next August will be here before you know it! Let me know how you are doing with your courses and if they are still using Angel as their online interface. My college here switched from Angel to another online course system (Canvas). Not quite enjoying the online experience with Canvas just yet, but I guess in time, it will grow on me.
I should be hearing back from PSU within the next week. Fingers crossed.

what is the overall cost of this program?
Hi CeceStar 5. Not sure of the overall cost. It depends on the amount of credits you still need to take as well as the rate you qualify for (based on number of credits you will still need to take at PSU). I believe there are a few posts under Colleges if you do a bit of a search, or you can contact PSU / view their website. The app fee was $50. Pretty standard.
Update: PSU accepted all of my credits... Even the ones I took over 10 years ago at another University. So glad.
Thanks for the info.. I will check them out
