I have a peer interview lined up, where I have to ask questions to the nurses working in that unit. Wondering what all questions I should ask to gain more information about the unit and people working there.

There's a technique whereby we can draw out others in order to guide them to a goal.
For example asking them about what their duties can create questions using what they said and giving it back to them: "So I heading you saying (insert quote)" and then maybe expanding on it with, "What do you think of", or "How do you feel about..."
This technique also has the has the advantage of taking the focus off of us and putting it on them.
I would go as far as to suggest some role playing with someone you're close to. A few years ago, my medical nurse wife Belinda had to be involved in a meeting with an administrator over a problem situation. We role played and she said she felt more comfortable and prepared.
Good luck with your interview, Atari!
@Davey Do thank you so much. I learned how I can frame my questions.
