Hello All!
I am starting to seriously consider travel nursing and I would love to pick people's brains (especially peds travelers). I am a new grad who was hired into a very busy peds med surg unit. I am coming up on my one year mark and I would like to start getting a clearer picture of what traveling could look like SO
- What do you wish you had known before traveling?
- What are things I should make sure to negotiate in a contract?
- What tips/tricks do you have for moving around and finding housing?
- What does your social life look like for those of you who travel alone?
- Any experience/tips/tricks for traveling with a dog?
- Thoughts on waiting a full 2 years vs starting traveling after 1.5 years of experience?
- Any agency recommendations or bad experiences?
For Peds travelers in particular:
-Which agencies do you find have the best availability for peds?
-How much orientation do you usually get?
-What kind of assignments do you usually get?
If there is absolutely anything at all that you think would be helpful, please share your thoughts. Thanks in advance!
