Hello! I am looking for a little help/advice from people that are in the travel nursing industry. I am a pediatric surgical nurse for 2yrs and am going to start travel nursing in 6months. Recently talking to my recruiter Ive been told that there is little to no peds assignments :( I am ok moving out of my comfort zone and going to adults, however I have no experience in adults and he doesnt think I can get an adult assignment that easily, stating I should think of picking up a prn adults position until I start travel nursing. I want to stay in peds but im pretty specific of where I want to go... Alaska, so that is why I am looking to getting into adults so I would be more likely to get an assignment in alaska. I'm torn on what to do, should I try and pick up a prn position with adults for just

You need to talk to more agencies.

When you say surgery nurse, do you mean operating room? Either way, I think you need a staff position to learn adults if you really have zero experience. No one will hire you for PRN or travel adults - you will need a minimum of a year. Recruiters generally don't know about clinical requirements, certainly not the one you have.
