Peds OR nurse to Peds NP

Hello everyone. I really need an advice. I just graduated with BSN and got an offer for a circulating RN position in pediatric OR, which I am very interested in (my first RN position ever). However, my long term plan is to get into Peds NP Program. Will OR experience be beneficial or should I keep looking for a med/surg peds, PICU position? Any input is highly appreciated.

It's probably a little late to be responding but my nursing career has been in the OR both peds and adults. I graduated last year from my PNP program. I found that there was material I found to be challenging and may have been less challenging if I had different work experience but it was all manageable. I wouldn't change my OR experience at all!
