Hi everyone!Just curious if there are any nurses on here who have applied to or work at Connecticut Children's Medical Center. If you would like to share, I'd like to know about your interview process and if you are currently employed, I would be interested to hear if it is a nice place to work
Alot of views on this post but I figured I would ask again if anyone has any experience to share on the hiring process or maybe even a friends experience with CCMC? Thanks!
I applied back in May, and it isn't showing up. Sometimes they do rotating shifts there. I can't remember which shift it was for. I graduated from Holyoke Community College in Massachusetts. But I am a PCT on an infant and children's unit for over 2 years. So I have pediatric experience, not as a nurse, but in the medical field. I know back in 2007 they were in the high 20s low 30s. Hoping it is above 30.

I hope to work there because I've been told it is a fabulous workplace. As far as pay, I've heard from a few sources 28-30/hr to start but their shift differential is somewhere around 4$ per shift. But this might be different now as I last heard about this last year. That's why I started this thread to find more info :-)
The interview went great (I feel). I met with the manager in the ER department. After all her questions I was able to speak with nurses on the floor. We asked each other questions. I then got to tour the unit (40 bed ED). Then I met with the nurse educator and assistant nurse manager. Everyone was really nice. I was told I should hear back within a week from HR. The start date would be August 17th start date if I get hired. Hoping to hear back since Pedi is a dream job of mine. I was a PCT for children's unit before becoming a nurse.
Wow, sounds like it went great for you! That's a lot of action for one day. A friend of mine worked on a med surg floor there for a while and loved it. She worked twelve hour shifts modified weeks but I don't think it was the traditional 7p-7a or 7a-7p. I don't remember exactly. But she said its a great place to work with a lot of support. Seems like you'll land it with your experience!
I agree with you on that... I want to be in the hospital setting prefer ED or med surg. They don't post the shifts online only whether it's days/nights. It makes me a little nervous to apply if I don't know what hours they are offering! Which is why I started this thread to get more info! It would be nice to work only a few twelve hour shifts a week... I've been working in pediatric clinics so I'm ready to move up to something a little more challenging where I can learn more.
