Pediatric Home Health Tampa, FL

Specialties Home Health

Hi everyone

I am an LPN with a little over a year experience. I really want to work in pediatrics-preferably pediatric home health. I dont have alot of experience, and the experience I do have did not require any 'nursing skills' as I work at a drug rehab facility. So if I were to start home health it would be like starting from scratch. Although I have read iffy posts about PSA Healthcare, I was still curious as to how they operate. Do they do 12 hour shifts? (I'm really trying to do three 12 hours overnight shifts) Is there pay differential for overnight? How hard is it to maintain a 36 hour week? I want to do this full time, but how realistic is that? Is it hard to get hours? What does your day consist of? Any info would be much appreciated. And please, if its negative I'd rather hear it from a nurse who's actually worked there and not from rumors. Thanks! :)

Why don't you call the employer and get it from the horse's mouth? After all, policies can change from time to time and employee to employee.

yes youre right. I'm really upset right now :( I got a call back from Bayada Nurses, who've i heard is a pretty good agency. On the ad they clearly said they were looking for Full Time nurses, 4,8 or 12 hour shifts 7 days a week. I've been wanting to work for them for a long time so i jumped at the chance to apply. Well when they called me back they seemed to be confused as to why i was expecting a full time shift. HELLO?

I'm working at a miserable job right now-though luckily its full time. I work 9 days straight, get up at 4 every morning, the nurses i work with are sooo negative. all they do is talk about everyone behind their back. I make the minimum amount of pay, and if we work overtime the company wont give us a dime (We've even had to report them, but not much has changed). Its almost April and I still havent been paid for working New Years. We do drug rehab so its not unusual to be physically threatened by patients. But as much as it sucks I know that if I leave I need to work full time, and according to bayada thats impossible. I've applied at so many places but I'm just so frustrated right now :( I'm trying to stay positive and be thankful tht at least I have a job but that place makes it pretty hard.
