Ok y'all so today I went on an interview for a per diem position as a CNA in the ER at a children's hospital (its a pretty big one too) and I'm really nervous. The children's hospital is a part of the same health care organization as the hospital I work for currently (as an Adult Med/Surg CNA) so I have a little bit of seniority (which helps a little bit) but positions in the children's hospital are really hard to come by and are very competitive. I think the interview went really well, the manager seemed to like me and I think I presented myself as an articulate, intelligent and eager applicant. I talked about how I was a nursing student and how pediatric emergency nursing is really where I want to be now as a CNA and in the future as an RN. I know I'm babbling I'm just really excited and I want this position really badly, the floor I'm on now in adult med/surg has taught me a lot but its not where I want to be as a nurse. I guess I am just hoping that y'all cross your fingers and if you have any suggestions for me, whether I get the job or not (on how to improve my resume and make myself a better pediatric nursing candidate) then be sure to let me know.
