I have searched everywhere to figure out this question.
I am a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Am I allowed to write orders for covid testing on adult patients? The orders just say, COVID TEST and Stay at home order. Can someone show me in writing if I can write these orders, PLEASE!
I should add... My current job is starting a COVID testing site with the health department. I have a family provider, writing the orders for me and I just swab them. Essentially, I work as an RN. : ) I asked the board of nursing and still awaiting their answers.

You are covered up to 21 years of age:
The National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) broadly defines the pediatric population cared for by pediatric nurse practitioners (PNPs) as all children from birth through 21 years of age

Thank you so much! These are my thoughts also, but just wanted to be sure there wasn't a "COVID Waiver" saying I could. Just didn't want my CMO to be mad that I couldn't write these orders.

I wouldn't unless your Board of Nursing has issued some sort of waiver.. Does your facility not have an adult provider? My clinic has a walk in testing center that has standing orders for anyone wishing to have a COVID test.. maybe your facility could consider something similar.
