Peadiatric ED Nurses, Thankyou!

Published

:urck:As a mum I wanted to say a big thankyou to all pead ER nurses out there, it has to be one of the toughest jobs there are I should think and you made things a lot more bearable for us .

My boy is a former micro premmie with never ending lung issues and everytime he has been rushed to the ED for respiritory distress they have been so kind.

They always find time to see if I want a cup of tea etc (after he is stable obviously) and help me stay sane.

I know they dont enjoy putting IV's in little ones or getting a NG into a screaming toddler  but they do it as gently and precisely as they can.

I know mums that whinge about ED waits when they have taken their kid that has vomited once and has a low grade fever to ED :icon_roll but when little ones are truely sick the nurses in particular will go to any lengths to save that child.

Of course the Dr's were good but the nurses are the ones that make the ED/children's hospital stay bearable :bowingpur.

Hopefully one day I can be as good a nurse a you guys :twocents:.

Thank you Ninky. You totally put a smile on my face. I really needed to hear that. I work in a Peds ER and was totally stressed and fustrated today. Actually had a good cry when I got home and as I'm typing this have started crying. Its so stressful with the pt volume I see and the short staffing. I need to know my work is appreicated.

Have a good night.
