Does anyone know of any agencies using PDA/Blackberry technology to input the OASIS data?

Unaware of any software vender for PDA's. Most homecare is paper and pen driven although many larger agencies are going to laptop technology to ease medical record paper blizzard. How each agency choses to transmits it OASIS data to state varies. PDA's would need to be insynch with each agencies software, etc --- not a huge market. See growth 10 years down the road as more newer educated computer literate nurses join homecare ranks and DEMAND PDA's. Looking at our student boards, some nursing porgrams still graduate nurses without ever handling PDA in clinicals.

We just looked at point of care and PDA's don't have enough memory to support most home care software.

There are several comanies that offer PDA software for OASIS and 485 for Home Health Care. I work for a company that has the system orginally designed for the PDA cell phones, so once the work is done on the PDA it can be sent to the office in under 45 seconds from the field. In keeping with the regulations for the forum, let me know if you would like more information.

I do not wish to start an arguement, but PDA's have evolved enough with memory and performace to allow a number of clinical functions and paperwork to take place on them. I worked for an agency that has been using PDA's for the last 5 years.
