hi, im new here! what an awesome forum!! anyways...... what are you guys (srna's and crna's) downloading those pda's with??!!! i start school in 3 days....no kidding, gulp:eek: ., and i have been downloading information (i got a t3)from general medical software sites, and have even got some basic anesthesia software off of the good ole "ebay", but what are you experienced crna's using? im under the impression that this pda is gonna be my lifesaver (atleast until i am 99% sure i even think i know what i am doing) my director even wanted to know beforehand what type of pda i had (palm os vs. pocket pc)
do you even use them, do you recommend them for students, what do you think?
thanks in advance for your response!

I love my PDA and it gets a lot of use. Besides the obvious of having my date book, schedule and address book on hand, it's a great clinical resource. I use 5min clinical consult, soto Omoigui's Anesthesia drugs and The Manual of Anesthesia Practice regularly. Also, we are expected to keep our own patient log as a backup to track all our OR time, cases and procedures. I had an Anesthesia Stat Tracker but am switching to the PDA software that accompanies the schools tracking system. I will now be able to hot sync to my computer and log my cases on the school's system and my PDA at the same time. Very cool.
Not everyone in my class uses them, but our program starting next year will be requiring all the incoming students to have PDAs. Good luck starting school.

I LOVE MY PDA!!! I use the same programs listed already with the exception that I also use Epocrates quite a bit. There are som edrugs on the Soto Omogui's Aneshtesia Drugs that are not listed in there that are in the Epocrates. (Not anesthesia drugs....other drugs). I also have a Netter's Anatomy flash cards which is very helpful when I'm about ready to do a block and I need to refresh on the anatomy very quickly!! The PDA rocks!!! :rotfl:
