Skyscape.com offers discounts if you purchase more than one program. For example, if you purchase Taber's and Davis Drug Guide, you get 15% off. You can also link (go directly from one program to the other) on your palm. They also offer ARTBeat for free which is a CDC/FDA alert program. Keeps you on top of adverse drug events, etc. I own Davis Drug Guide, RNNotes, and TAbers all bought through Skyscape. Big help, in clinicals.

Ditto to all of this. I also have the Lippincott Nursing manual and the RN Diseases. Love the manual, but the RN Diseases leaves alot to be desired, imho. Seems like many of the diseases/disorders I need to research are not in the RND. If I had to buy only two, it would hands down be the Tabor's Dictionary and the Davis Drug Guide (or the other one they sell). They also have an excellent freeware item called Archimedes which has calculator setups for dozens of problems.

Thank you both so much!!!!

Can all those listed above be found @ skyscape.com, Archimedes as well?

TIA

Absolutely! In fact, Archimedes is a Skyscape product, if I'm not mistaken.

If you haven't used them, it's a pretty good outfit to try. All their software is downloadable with a free trial version (you get the full copy but in this "locked" mode, many options don't work but gives you a "look" and "feel" for what you're getting). If you like it, you simply go back to the site to purchase it. They then give you an "unlock code" to gain full function. At the same time, you can elect to purchase a CD version of what you ordered for about $6, I think. Along with this you get free version upgrades for each program for one year.

I had a couple of small problems with one of the programs and contacted their customer service both by phone and email. Prompt effective replies either that day or the next. I think they're great and will get all my business in the future.

Good luck,

Phil

I LOVE my Tungsten E!! I got it as a graduation gift from my husband. I so wish I would have had it during clinicals, it sure would have beat lugging half a dozen books to clinicals! As a new grad, I use Davis and Taber's ALL the time! I got my through skyscape and I know a couple weeks ago they were offering a package deal on those two programs and they were a whole lot cheaper then buying them seperately. Have fun!

:rotfl: I have a tungsten E too but it has been acting up. I don't know why if it is the software that I downloaded that caused the problem. I called their customer service and they said that my software probably had screwed up my memory card. So I now I have to return my memory card and I might have to reload all the software.

I am wondering why I can't hotsyn any exe file to the handheld? Do you know of any program that I might need to load so that I can hotsyn my Taber to my handheld? My Taber is a exe. file.

There's a good thread on PDAs and PDA programs in the General forum.

I have a Tungsten E as well, but the only medical program I have downloaded right now is for Mnemonics - I'm not in nursing school yet (and may not be ever if I can't pass chemistry!) :o
