PCCN Worth Obtaining and Renewing as an FNP?

Starting FNP school and contemplating if I should get my PCCN certification since I've already started studying for it. Is it worth the cost to take the test and continue renewing it once I'm an FNP? Does anybody have any experience with this topic?

Before I decided to pursue my NP, I had started studying for the PCCN. At that time I think I was still trying to convince myself that I was happy in my bedside role.

It all fizzled out during a labor strike when I reorganized my goals towards NP. I have not looked back ever since.

So from my perspective, I really don’t see the point. Its not really going to be of much value for its knowledge in the FNP. Acute care maybe.

I took a whole course and was excited about the skills and knowledge I was applying to my work. But in terms of the title I was not motivated. Thats just me though.
