PBCC or Barry University

Published

Hello. I was enrolled in a nursing program at a community college. I withdrew recently due to my mother being diagnosed with breast cancer. Her prognosis is good but I took off to take care of things for her on the homefront.

In the mean time, I figure I can at least finish what classes I have left towards my AA in nursing and possibly transfer to a university. I wasnt very impressed with the program I was in and have heard nothing but good things about Barry's program. However, their tuition is expensive. A student there told me that they went above and beyond for him to help him get the money to cover the costs plus living expenses. I am a single mom of two and need every bit I can get. Has anyone here had any experience with Barry's scholarships, loans etc.? Please advise.

Thanks

As fas as finicial aid goes there pretty true to the amount pre-qualified for when you go thier website. Just make sure you file for FAFSA as early as possible and you should be set in that arena

I know that Barry has a partnership with Bapist Hospital in Kendall, where they pay $20K towards your tuition for a work committment of 3 years. You still have to pay I believe it's $15K, but at least they help out a bit.:)

12K is about the price per semester and baptist does have a schlorship with Barry, but i know they offer 20K fro 3yrs at NOVA i'm not sure if its the same for Barry

I am interested in that scholarship that Baptist offers to Barry students, but I would like to know how much high your GPA should be to get into the Baptist program. I have 3.79, Do you think I have chance?

You can call the Baptist Scholars Program directly and they'll give you all the info. 786-596-4171. I'm really not sure about the GPA but I think that you have to have a least a 3.0 to be able to qualify. When you call ask them to email you the info and they'll send you everything.
