:clown: i was curious what are the payscales for nurses around the country? (not that i plan to move, unless its to the caribbean! :onbch:

at my facility we start rn's out at $21/hr new grads & experienced nurses higher ; lpn's start out at $16/hr for new grads & higher for experience. we pay a 75cent shift diff for 2nd & 3rd shift, we get double time & 1/2 for holidays worked or 1 1/2 time w/ an extra day off paid, which ever way you want to use it? 16 vacation days a year for 5 yrs or more service- 12 for 3-4 yrs

8 for 1-2 yrs of service & 6 for under 1 yr of service, we actually work vacation on an hr per pay schedule that works out nice because our per diem & part time staff still get the chance to earn some vacation & sick time. we do have max's though no more than 136 hrs vacation in your bank............. which stinks! but the pay is great...

how is the pay around the country???

:smackingf:anpom:

i know in new jersey, the day rate regular range depending on hospital for a new rn is $23.00-$28.00 depending on: location in nj and what department you join. obviously there are evening and night differentials of 0.50-1.00; again depending on hospital. not sure how that compares to around the country. i took eventually think i will relocate down south, and believe their wages are slightly lower, although housing and propr taxes will hopefully be less.:)

Here in FL, the start rate for new nurses is about $21/hr..give or take a dollar. It goes up with experience of course. There are a couple of cities that pay a lot less, but 21 is the majority. At the hospital where I work, the shift diff starts at about $3.00 for week evenings and goes up to $7.75 more for night weekends. We get 7.2 hours paid for 10 holidays a year regardless if you work it or not. There is no limit to how many PTO hours we can accumulate and the insurance benefits are great. As for things being cheaper down south...it depends on how far south you go. GA, TN, SC, NC...yes. FL...no. Since the weather is "nice" (I don't think so, it's too hot) and the snowbirds come during the winter and retire here....and the theme parks in central FL, its not as cheap as people think. Some places aren't as bad as others, but the cost of living compared to wages is terrible.

Hi,

Here in San Diego for open shop union facilities new grads start at about $30.00. The closed union shop facilities start higher. The noc shift diff is $4.00.

I am a CNA while in school and the top of my pay scale is $17.53

In Houston, New Grads start between $22-$27 per hour with night differential being around the $3-$4 range. And the cost of living here is amazing!!! (At least it is compared to NJ which is where I just moved from.)
