Hello All....I am new to the board and I was wanting to see if anyone could help me out with a question/concern I have. I am looking to apply to the 2014 Summer Nursing Program with FSCJ. I am enrolled in my last prerequisite this Fall (Microbiology). I am really excited and ready to get this started and to get this degree that I have wanted for so long. However I am 33 now, married, own my house, have a 2 year old and work full time as does my husband. It takes everything we have to pay the mortgage, car, utilities, food and daycare and that is pretty much all the debt we have. My current occupation is not really one I can change from full time to part time with. I am concerned on if I get accepted into the program that I will have to quit working which would remove my income and we cannot live on my husband's alone. I am not worried about getting financial aid for the coast of school but I need something to supplement my income when I am not working. Does anyone know how I could get enough money to cover the mortgage while I go to school? I am not sure how it works as far as going to a place that offers private student loans. Can I just tell them what I need and see if I am approved? Any info is appreciated.

Hi Future Nurse,
Please look into this program called : WorkSource ( u can go on FSCJ Kent campus, they have a location there, probably other campuses too, but I know for sure on Kent) or online and they will help pay for your school and books. Please start early because there is some paperwork to be done and done tests to be taken( easy ones)
Good luck to you and see you in the summer or fall! ( I'm aiming for summer, but for sure fall I will be in, 198 points in fall for the entrance)
God bless!
