Paying the price of a school closure

Published

Am new to the family but really need help. I was attending DMC,which closed October 30,2015. I was 5 classes shy of completing their ASN program. I'm having a hard time transfer my credits to another school. I did find one school didnt like thier dishonesty. I was accepted to another school, after paying for test, then received my tanscripts missing classes I knew that was taking. Now because am attempting now many school are offering me the option to start over. If am starting over it will be at Miami Dade College, so I know I will not have any problems transferring my credits to further my career. Please help with any suggestion. Thank you in advance.

DMC = Dade Medical College, for those of us that did not know. Click on the link below to read more about the closure of this shady school:

Can anyone point me in the right direction.

I'm sorry to say this, but you are going to have to start over. Those credits are basically worthless. If your school is not accredited regionally, the credits do not transfer anywhere.

I would find a good community college with a regionally and nationally accredited program and start from there. It's really sad that these schools rope people in, but you need to do your research when you are spending this kind of money. You would never buy a car or buy a house without test driving or having it inspected. The same is true with your education. Do your research and find a good, quality school. There are many out there.

Thanks I planning on going to Miami Dade college
