pay scale and best hospitals in san francisco

Hi My hubby and I(both RN's) are thinking of moving in about a year and a half. We are looking at san fran and seattle. Can anyone tell me what the avg. rate for a staff nurse with 2-4years exp. is in san fran area? Also does anyone have any preferences for the hospitals. I like to be a part of a team and am not too concerned about what type of patients we take care of (poor or rich) it doesnt matter as long as the hospital is well managed and the staff is friendly and helpful. Thanks for any help you might be able to offer.

Hard to find a job in SF area. Nursing market there is saturated. If you really wants to move there. Take whatever job you can get, then look for good opportunities. Pay is good $40+ with experience.

Pay may be good but the cost of living is unbelievably high, it is something to consider when an average home cost 800k. It's what made my father (with a PhD in biochem from UCSF) and my stepmom (with a MSN from UCSF) move out of here...and that's not taking into account the homeless problem which I think is worse here than anywhere because of a system that has lots of benefits for homeless including free bus passes and numerous soup kitchen. Come to SF and see for yourself, the homeless are everywhere, on every sidewalk, I ever saw one going poo-poo on Market St once, talk about gross! You hear the tourists complaining because the homeless will ask you for money all the time. Impossible to walk down Market St without being approached by dozens of people asking for money. You can smell pot in the air all over. I used to walk to clinicals passed hookers and drug dealers. I grew up here as a kid, it's not the same. The only reason I live here now is because my BF hit it big in the tech industry but that said, it's his house and his money. I want to own my own property which is why I am considering leaving. Yes, it looks beautiful in photos but if you are thinking of moving here, you should at least visit.
