Hello,
I am about to graduate nursing school and am considering relocating to San Luis Obispo or a surrounding area at some point. Can anyone tell me what the RN wages are there? Ive searched for union contracts, but have been unable to locate them. The cost of living seems quite high and before exploring this option I need to know if it will be financially feasible. Thank you so much!

The cost of living has skyrocketed in that area. It exemplifies what California has become in the past several decades. High rents, if you can find a place, are countered by almost nonexistent work. Most young people who grow up there leave as soon as they can get away because of the lack of opportunity. A nice place for the wealthy from down south, or up north, to retire to and then there are the tourists and college students. Not much left for others.
Thanks Caliotter for the input...disappointing but certainly not surprising.
Unable to find a nursing job in the area at all some time back and was not even going for the 'choice' employers.

Considering this area...any fresh input? Wages? Good hospitals to work for in this area? I have one year of nursing experience in the ICU. SLO? Paso Robles? Surrounding areas? Thanks!
