I work for a home health agency. We now pay all RN's by salary(different rates based on experience, longevity, etc.) and are looking to convert to PPV. From what I can find, it seems most agencies pay the same rates on PPV to all RN's. Is that the way it really is? It seems the higher paid RN's would not be happy with PPV unless the rate was high enough to make their compensation somewhat equal to their salary. How are paid days off, holidays, in-services, handled? Do you have a different rate for after hours/on-call visits? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just started today in home health doing skilled visits. We are paid per visit and for orientation/in-services I get hourly. I'm only per diem and I'm not sure how the FT staffers get paid.
I came from hospice home care and I worked there FT Fri-Mon and I was paid salary plus visit pay if I was on call on a holiday and had to go out on a visit. For in-services there, I was just given mileage to office.

The agency I work for pays one price per visit. There are different rates for regular visits, and high tech visits. Also for SOC'S Recerts and ROC's. I agree that it is not fair for those of us who have been working for a long time. Supposedly, they are working on fixing that.
The agency I used to work for went from salary to PPV. They took the hourly rate and made your visit rate 1 1/2 hrs of your hourly pay for a regular visit. That seemed fair, and about right for the length of a visit plus charting time.
