I bought the red NLN PAX book that's actually made by the creators. I kid you not, 95% of everything in the book was on the exam. I scored a 123 and our school requires a 120. If I would have studied the book from cover to cover I would have gotten a higher number. The math is really what saved me. I hadn't even taken A&P 1/2 nor Microbiology.
thank you so much for the info. I was hoping I wasn't studying wrong stuff. I have that book and take the practice tests from the CD in the back of it.

Honestly, I was sort of confused as to when I was supposed to take it so I took it at the same time I was starting my pre-requisites so that I could declare a nursing major at my school. I hadn't taken a science class since 10th grade biology, and I had been out of school for about 20 years. I didn't study at all because the required score at my school didn't sound that difficult lol. I nailed the math and english and got 88 percentile on the science section for a composite score of 141. I don't feel like there was anything terribly advanced on that test. I remember it asking about atomic weights and atomic number and easy stuff like that which I didn't know at the time, but you don't need to study anything really complicated. If anything, you should study up about test taking if you aren't good at tests because I think that is what gets you through more than anything.
Yes it is. :)

I know this is late but does anyone know if the updated exam still has the same types of questions and if that book would still be appropriate to use? I am planning on taking it in 3 weeks and really want to be as prepared as possible.
