Help, please. :bluecry1: What is the pathophysiology of DHF? I've tried sifting through articles from the WHO, CDC, NIH, MedicineNet, etc., but I have yet to see a clear, straightforward explanation on how the dengue Flavivirus causes epigastric pain, vomiting, rashes, bleeding etc. Also, I know the virus causes vascular permeability but how? I need to make a flowchart of its pathophysiology for a case presentation. ...Thank you very much to whoever can help me. :yeah:

vascular permeability is a feature of the inflammation response. there are several things going on with dengue. the invasion by the microbe itself is one thing. you should have gotten that from who, cdc, and nih. but once any microbe invades a body, the inflammatory response of the body is activated. that is how the body attempts to protect itself. that is how you get the fever and chills. read about the inflammation response on this thread: https://allnurses.com/forums/f50/histamine-effect-244836.html

Thank you so much. I'm going through the articles I saved and the infomation you gave me. I guess at first glance, the write ups I saw were too technical for me. (I'm only in my first year of nursing school) Thank you, thank you, thank you:yeah:
