past expereince job opportunit

I have recently passed NCLEX and am job searching. I had a previous career (ophthalmology for 20 yrs). I have a job opportunity as a nurse in an ophthalmic surgery center. I want surgery and have ophthalmic surgery experience - but my question is: will I limit myself as an RN going back to the same field. I am seeing the same issues that other new grads as seeing - need experience. I know it sounds crazy but this job is days, no holidays, no weekends, benefits, etc. etc. But I do not want to take something that will limit my future bc that is where I was before nursing, limited to ophthalmology. Please advise. I have thought maybe I could find a contigent job on weekends in another area???
