So I would like to share how I passed my nclex with 265 questions on the first try. I graduated from nursing school in may 2016 and took my nclex at the end of June. I studied on and off for about the a month, but really studied the week before testing. I used a bunch of resources but only found 2 resources helpful. At the beginning of my studying , I used nclex mastery and Saunders. I found the nclex mastery questions very easy and I was not really retaining information from the Saunders book. Kaplan was highly recommended to me so I took the in person review course and found it to be a total waste of money and time. Also the practice questions rationales were not well developed so I did not gain anything from that. ATI was administered to me by my school, it was okay but did not mirror the nclex in my opinion. The two resources that I found the most helpful was the 35 page study guide floating around the internet and U WORLD. U WORLD questions helped with critical thinking and the rationales were excellent. The rationales within itself provide content review. Testing day , i arrived early and was testing before my appointment time. I was expecting to finish with 75 questions and I finished with 265 questions in about 2.5 hours. I did not try the pvt trick and waited the 48 hours for the quick results. My advice to future test takers is to narrow down on study material and find one that works best for you. Also do not expect to finish with 75 questions and take your time to answer each question carefully.
