First off, Praise The Lord!
Yeah! I passed! The first time I took the nclex I went up to 234 questions before it shut off. I sat there for 4.5 hours and refused to take a break because I was worried about wasting time. I didn't prepare much and only did 2 or 3 Kaplan question trainers and maybe 300 q bank questions. I only did about 800 nclex style questions max.
This second attempt I did 6 Kaplan question trainers, 90% of the q bank, la charity, saunders questions, nclex 4000, all nurses study guide, hurst review videos handouts and 6 hurst tests. All in all I did over 8,000 nclex style questions. I'm not even kidding
I passed the nclex yesterday with 75 questions in 2 hours. The breakdown of my test is listed below
21 sata
2 exhibits
4 ekg's
48 multiple choice
Remain calm during your test, it helped me. You passed nursing school so you're obviously got the brains. Focus on safety and not being that killer nurse!
Honestly Hurst Review helped me a lot on solidifying my core content and explained it in such a way that you'll remember the info on your test. I worked 50+ Hours a week during nursing school so hurst helped me polish things up. Hurst gives great advice to relax on the nclex too.
my hurst scores are listed below
test 1- 86/125
test 2- 79/125
test 3- 72/125
test 4-72/125
test 5-82/125
test 6- didn't start it
Kaplan is well known for their decision tree but I really never applied it while taking the exam. However, the live review was amazing! My instructor gave us tips that really kicked in during the test. I was truly blessed to have taken her class.
my Kaplan scores are listed below
diagnostic - 68%
qt 1 - 68%
Qt 2 - 61%
Qt3 - 55%
readiness 58%
Qt 4- 65%
Qt 5- 65%
Qt 6 - 61%
Qt 7 - didn't start it
q bank completed 90% of questions with a score of 57%
I'm glad it's finally over and I can't tell you the relieve I feel. Have faith, put in the study time and conquer this Nclex because you can
