Passed the Nclex!!!

Published

Yesterday I took my nclex exam. I was so nervous about it, when it shut down at 75 questions, I did not know if I had passed or failed. I left the testing center confused, thinking about the 1:30 drive ahead of me.

When I arrived home, I tried the pvt and got the good pop up, I could not believe my eyes. So this morning the official results are in, I passed!

This has been a long journey so far and now a new one is about to start!

I don't know if I can say this here, but would like to thank St Joseph of Cupertino for answering my prayers.

Thanks for reading it!

I took my NCLEX today... I also cut off at 75 questions. I did have lots of select all questions- I swear I think it was about half of them, and I really HATE those! I was praying for not many of them, and of course I got a ton! Not too much pharm- but definately had a few; the most pharm I had was the kind of question that asks you which med order would you question? I only had 2 or 3 dosing questions (no IV stuff). Lots of prioritizing (who would you see first), maybe 2 psyc questions, and 2 or 3 OB questions. It seemed like a lot of questions on who would you d/c first for a disaster preparedness drill... there were several of those.

I took Kaplan to prepare, and unfortunately, pretty much all of my questions landed on the last branch of the decision tree where you are pretty much screwed, and have to guess, lol. I don't think a single question was as cut and dry and as easy as deciding the answer based on assessment or intervention? Maslow? ABC's? In my case, I'm not sure it helped me too much, which is disappointing since I am still paying for the class. Oh well... at lease it made me feel better to know I did all I could to prepare.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I passed... I did the "trick" on Pearson Vue's website, and I couldn't register. I hope that means I passed, and not that I am the first person in history to fail and still get that error message that says to contact your board member, lol.

Congradulations! that is so cool! Good job, really! My question for you is what do you mean when you mentioned disaster drills and which pt to d/c, does that mean disconnect or discharge? Just wondering b/c I don't recall covering much about disasters and pt care in my books (aside protocal for pt removal, fire, etc).

I totally understand about addressing questions using kaplan and the decision tree not truly fitting in, it's never cut and dry which is why it makes it so tough.

Thanks and congrads again RN!

OMG, congrats!! so the quick result works on weekends too!!! now hoping its working on sundays too... then i will be able to check............ i envy you so much at this moment!!!!!!
