Passed Nclex with 75 questions 7/7/15

For future test takers Nclex is really not bad. Just make sure you at-least put your part & study. It was a breeze!! I knew I passed without seeing my results but did not tell anyone until the BON confirmed it. My strategy>>>>

I graduated on May 1st. Did 50 questions from Saunders Daily and 50 questions from Kaplan daily.. Saunders is too easy but I learned a lot of my content from them. Kaplan is ALOT harder than Nclex so if you can master Kaplan questions you can deff pass Nclex! I took my exam July 7th. I gave my-self a little over 2 months to test.

ps- If you can afford it i would also suggest doing the Hurst review of listening to at-least 2 lectures daily. I heard she was great!!

log on to this link. I was able to find out my results the morning after I took my exam.

Hey so do you recommend doing more questions over content? i feel like I'm forgetting content a lot. I've been doing lots of questions soo much that I've only been able to go over them once. I still have almost 2 weeks roughly before I test but I've only gone over the questions after answering them. Should I go over them again or spend more time with content?

Honestly I only did questions. You will learn a lot of Content through the rationals. I never did more than 100 questions a day. 75 was the minimum I would do in one day. Do questions, questions, questions. Write down important content that you've learned by reading the rationals and review your notes 2 days before your exam.

Thanks for the reply. So questions is best. Can I also ask if you repeated the same questions you did? Or did you keep trying to get new questions from different sources. I'm learning a lot through questions I've done maybe 3000 but I haven't gone back to review the rationales yet from all the questions. I'm just wondering if it would be good to go back now and go over the rationales or still keep going on questions and review everything 2 days before the exam? I have written all of the rationales for most of the questions I've went through them after I answered the questions but I haven't gone back to look at them anytime after.

I did not go back to repeat the questions I got wrong. I just felt like that would be a waste since you more than likely I would have remembered the answer.

Another thing, I did not do 100 questions straight through. I would start off with 30 and then go through every rationale before proceeding to another 30. You have to understand it before continuing. 100 questions sometimes will be impossible to do in one day if you're taking a lot of time on the rationale but what's more important is that you understand it.

Going back to review your previous Rationales is never a bad idea. Where are you getting your questions from?

Thanks for your input I really appreciate it. I will have to go through the rationales once more for everything then. Questions are from all over. I've done Lipincott Q and A, Kaplan, La Charity, Uworld, Hurts, I haven't done Qtrainers yet though do you advice on doing them? I wish I had the time to do 100 questions now I'm not sure yet I'm trying to go over my meds for this week (I haven't started yet) and I have to go back to read rationales for Uworld, Kaplan, La Charity, and my own notes. I have more or less 11 days.

and you are absolutely right sometimes theres no time to do 100 questions every day I've been making an effort to do 150 everyday but there are some days especially weekends where it's a flop. Which is why I'm kind of on the fence with the QT and time management when I have to review all the rationales plus do the meds, labs, etc. I also still have my Saunders Questions here waiting for me.

My advice is to do the Kaplan Trainers. If you are testing soon make sure you do the Kaplan trainers. If you can master Kaplan you will pass the Nclex. Kaplan is a lot harder so don't get discouraged if you're scoring in the 60's. I scored in the 60's a lot and also in the 70's. It's not good to study too many different resources. If I had to put them in order my top 3 would be 1) Kaplan. 2) Hurst 3)Saunders.

Take a deep breath and begin Kaplan. If you're on a time frame of 11 days then just do Kaplan questions everyday and remediate which is the most important.
