Hello nurses and future nurses
I took my nclex-rn back in 4/21 but did not receive my results as of yesterday due to going into a stipulated agreement with the BRN.
Like many others here, I am here to share my story in hopes to motivate you or answer any potential questions you have. I am not here to brag about how I only got 75 questions cause quite frankly I feel as though I just got lucky with the types of questions.
Let me start off by saying I was not the greatest nursing student. My average was probably a low B throughout nursing school BUT what really matters is how you PREPARE for the test. Yes nursing school is there to prepare you but what you do AFTER you graduate is key.
I used Kaplan + Uworld and my scores were not the greatest but reading every single rationale and going into depth on topics that I was clueless about and writing notes is what I feel like really helped.
For kaplan, I did all the Qtrainers and averaged 50-55 while in Uworld I did the entire question bank and finished at exactly 50%. It really irritates me when people on here at Allnurses come in saying "I averaged 60% for Kaplan and Uworld, is that high enough" Like DUH are you just looking for someone to baby you and say yeah thats high enough cause obviously if you've been doing your research you know anything in the 60's range is extremely good. In my case, I never hit 60% so DO NOT LET THIS PHASE YOU if this sounds like you. My scores were average but like I said reading the rationales and how you study is more important.
Fast forward to test day - I finished 75 questions in approximately 1 and a half hours. Had about 10 SATA, 10 priority questions, 1 exhibit question and rest were multiple choice. While I was taking the test, I was freaking out because I knew I was getting more right than wrong, but the test didn't seem to be getting any harder. *PLEASE DO NOT READ INTO THE "TYPES" OF QUESTIONS YOU ARE GETTING*. At the end of my test, I was almost sure that I failed because the questions seemed almost too easy but in fact I guess I was just prepared since I ended up passing the test.
If there is anyone that is going into a stipulated agreement or going to a hearing with the BRN and have any questions regarding this whole process, feel free to ask and I would love to help if I can.

CONGRATS! I haven't graduated yet, so bear with me. When you say you did the qtrainers, does that mean you used kaplan's qbank only? Or does that include kaplan's entire course?
Hey no problem. When I say Qtrainers, in Kaplan they have these mini tests which are called "q trainers". They have #'s 1-7 so I did all of those. I actually did not do any questions from the QBANK. The only questions I did are all from UWORLD.
Thx
