Hello fellow Nurses, Grads, Soon to be Grads.
this is to those taking nclex first time or again.
I Passed Nclex 2nd time around.
First time, i did not study enough, i rushed through the exam.
2nd time around, i prepared more than before and i took my time going through the questions.
To those taking Nclex for the first,
1. The exam is Hard. You have to prepare. I used Hurst and ncsbn questions. I did not finish either. But if i was to redo it again. I would finish all hurst videos and answer all the questions on Ncsbn.
2. You have to learn how to answers questions. There are strategies. I.e
A. Never pick answers with absolutes; never, always...
B. Remember ABC's
C. LPN, or New RN nevet get "newly dx" unstable clients....etc etc.
there are more strategies that you will learn...
3. There specific things that nclex is targeting. So if you can focus on those things the better. I noticed while doing pratice ques there things i kept seeing. For example tardive dyk, epiglottis. So i knew these were important to know. Content wount teach u this, questions will. A day after my exam, i was reading thru this blog and i came across someone who had taken exam in October and was listing info that came in their exam (this is illegal btw). But all that stuff they wrote was very familiar. Which makes me know for sure their specific things they are asking.
4. I DID NOT GET ALOT OF SATA. Most of my questions were Priority. So not Getting a lot of SATA does not mean you are failing. So dnt feel discouranged if your taking the exam and the SATA are few.
5. The content on exam was familar its just all answers looked right. Lol. So TAKE your time and eliminate answers ( Strategy).
I Also stuck to only a limited resource. I did not wanna be all over the place.
7. Its good to learn labs and vaccine schedule. But remember ques are never direct. Thats why i think practicing questions weighs more than content.
8. Pray. (I thank God for my success.)
9. Take breaks
10. BE CONFIDENT, YOU GOT THIS!!!!
Ps: Know you will be terribly nervous as u wait for your results. If i had my way, I would have slept for 48 hours and wake up when my quickview results were available. All the best. W!!!

how many questions you did? which program did u use ?
I did about 1000 ques. Mainly from ncsbn. Sata i did from saunders and also praticed some from nclex 4000. Learn to strategize. Key words, elimination t/f on sata, etc etc. I think this is key.
