Congrats,

Please tell me how you studied. Which textbooks did you actually use? Were they EC textbooks or another publisher's? Finally, any study tips for some one studying just starting out studying for NC-1.

Great job-I know you are so excited.:balloons:

Thanks !

Several people have asked me how I studied, books to use etc. Maybe I'll try to put my answer here. First of all, I don't have any of the recommended books. I am broke (thanks to the expensive EC program) and I am cheap so I cannot afford to buy those books. However, I downloaded all the EC study guides. The guides tell you the area of study. I went through the guides and picked up those areas that I was not good at. Then I went back to my LPN books and found the answers. Honestly, I don't find a big difference between the LPN and RN med/surg books. Expect to find different answers from different books for the same topics. Do the sample test on the guides and this will give you some ideas how well you are doing but don't use it as the only thing to gauge your performance. I think the EC exams are very much like NCLEX style so critical thinking and ability to apply your knowledge towards a scenerio is essential. I remember most of the questions require at least some thinking. I also used a set of used RUE books which I bought from someone. I mostly used them to supplyment my knowledge and did the sample questions for practice. The best studying style is high self-discipline. Set yourself a realistic daily schedule/goal. I also scheduled my exam date before I started studying so I had a deadline chasing after me.
