Congrats!! I passed mine on 03/13. I did not do APEA but did Fitzgerald instead- information overload but the Leik book definitely helped. Also I bought exams from exam edge and some of the questions on the boards were exactly like Exam Edge questions!! Goodluck in your future endeavors.

Thank you! and Congrats to you too!
Phew, now that studying is over, I feel like the stress is finally gone ?
Congrats to all those who passed! My school has us doing the Fitzgerald review and it’s great but it is a lot of information. The Leik review is great as well, my question is how many hours a day did you guys study? Also I am studying by systems eg cardiac, HEENT, respiratory etc. I graduate in May and plan on giving my self 4-6 wks of studying.

Hey, I did about 8 hours per day for about 20-25 days. I did intensive studying though. You probably don't have to go as intense as I did. Good Luck!

Hey everyone,
I just wanted to chime in because it was so helpful reading through allnurses forums when I was studying to get an idea of how and what to study. Everyone is right about the resources.
What I thought about AANP exam: It was definitely hard, but doable. Breakdown of Questions:
80 questions that were def in the review books
50 questions questions that I was mixed on
20 questions were things I never saw/reviewed
I think the goal is def try to know the stuff you CAN review b/c there’s always going to be stuff on the exam you’ve never encountered. So that’s the controllable.
Most helpful resources: APEA videos (Amelie Hollier) and Leik book (front to back)
Most helpful for questions: APEA practice book (all the questions and rationales) + APEA predictor exam (to check you knowledge gaps - tells you your weak areas). My goal was 70% or greater on each topic, if not, then I went back and reviewed some more.
Most “like” the real exam: Take a PSI practice test, so you get a feel for what the real exam is looking for, especially the way questions are worded and the kind of answers the real exam is looking for. Learn how to use “mark” function on PSI practice exam so you can go back and review a question you didn’t know.
I studied for about a month straight and I was weak in many areas. So it was definitely an intense month of studying. I remember some topics/questions from the exam, if you're taking the FNP AANP soon, PM me for that. Otherwise, I want to thank everyone on allnurses who contribute and help everyone else out.
