Part time employment

Considering a specialty job in a private practice (24 hours/week). Wondering what I should be looking for in terms of a contract- salary averages, what benefits to expect, CME, PTO etc? Thank you!

The salary should be in keeping with NP salaries in the same speciality in your area. As for benefits etc. that will depend on the employer. Most hospitals in my area offer benefits at 20 or > hours a week although they are prorated based on your FTE. Smaller employers who I work for on a very part-time basis don't offer any benefits and at those jobs I get a higher rate than at my benefitted position.

I was thinking of what sort of rate increase? 1.5x or 1.25x. I'm thinking my benefit package at my current fulltime job has to be close to 50-75% of rate including their 1/2 of SSI, PTO, and health insurance.

What I have going on now is about 20% higher for no benefits but it is as an employee not 1099 so the FICA is still split.
