Hello I recieved word that my husbands job is being relocated to Park Rapids in January. I graduate with my ADN in December. I am hoping someone could tell me what the job outlook is for RN's up there, so I can make an informed decision about whether we should move up or not. I am currently dirving over 40 miles in traffic in the twin cities to get to work, so I would be willing to drive to surrounding areas such as wadena, detroit lakes, and bemidji. Do you think I could find a job easily?

Hello, I recently worked at Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids as an LPN before I graduated with my ADN. At the time the nursing home was not hireing RNs, nor was the hospital.
The hospital tends to use RNs per diem, as they usually have a low census. Its very hard for nurses to get full time work in Park Rapids.
Otherwise, I'd suggest looking at nearby towns. Wadena may have some positions, or you could drive to Bemidji. If you choose to go to Bemidji, apply at least 6 months in advance because it usually takes a while to hear back from them.
Hope I helped.
Can you tell me where you ended up finding a position and how long it to you? THanks!
Hi there! I ended up applying for positions all over the country and went through a few interviews and finally choose a job I waned.
It took me 3 months after passing NCLEX but I had started searching at leastr 3 months prior to that for a total for 6 months.
Good luck in your search!
