pac telethon

last evening our pa state nurses-pac (political action committee) conducted a telethon campaign. this is an election year with many local and statewide offices in contention. pa state nurses-pac is the fundraising arm of our association. the contributions we collect during this campaign will ensure that the political candidates who support nurses and access to quality health care are elected.

in this electoral year we currently have legislation that we want to guarantee the nursing voices are heard concerning:

  • obliteration of mandatory overtime
  • recognition of clinical nurse specialists in pa nursing law
  • reimbursements of registered nurse first assistants in operating rooms across the state
  • mandatory continuing education for nurses
  • ensuring safety of our children in schools by lowering the ratios of school nurses to children from 1:1500 to 1:750.
