Hey there,
I am a new nurse (1 month now) and feel completely in over my head on my floor. I feel pulled in every direction trying to learn fifty new things at once. I feel like I do not know anything now at all! I also always feel like I am messing up and when I go home at night I get so worried about did I chart this, did I do that, what if this, what if that, etc... Does anyone else feel this way?? Any encouragement is appreciated!

There was an old commercial about deodorant that said, "Never let them see you sweat". Act as if you have it under control or they may let you go like they did me. I was given 64 very ill patients as a new grad. They said I lacked confidence and let me go. I feel this was very unfair to me. Just a word of warning, act like you are calm, cool, and collective.

I think this is just one of those things where you have to fake it till you make it. Pretend to be confident and know what you are doing even if you are absolutely terrified on the inside. Good luck. It get better. (I hope) :)

Lol I'm not new and I do the same. I honestly worry more about the nurses who don't care! Good luck but you will do fine. Everyone has to be a new nurse once! (thank goodness only once!)
