Overseas nurse for vetassess assessment

Published

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. I am a registered nurse in the Philippines and I took my qualifications in the Philippines. I have 2 years and 5 months experience as a registered nurse.

I would like to ask if I were to do an assessment with VETASSESS, Am I eligible in these occupations?

a. Primary Health Organisation Manager

b. Health Promotion Officer

c. Occupational Health Safety Adviser

d. Health and Welfare Service Managers NEC

e. Nurse Manager

f. Sales Representative (Medical and Pharmaceutical Products)

g. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker

h. Ambulance Officer

i. Community Worker

j. Intensive Care Ambulance Paramedic

k. Diversional Therapist

l. Pharmacy Technician

Would I get a positive skills assessment from VETASSESS if I nominate one of this occupations? I am planning to migrate to australia using these occupations. What exactly are my chances?

Specializes in Acute Care. ER. Aged Care/LTC. Psyche.

Without the work experience needed for those jobs, and the right qualification, unfortunately your not eligible under those occupations. A combination of your Business and Nursing degree is not really an asset when it comes to immigration. It's either you apply as a business person OR a nurse. But then if you apply under any of the several business-related occupations, you have to have experience to back you up. And if you apply under any RN qualifications, then you have to go through AHPRA, which includes the bridging program.

Do you know how many points you have for SkillSelect? Because by the look of it, you don't have points for experience, and you'll definitely need an IELTS exam. The reason I asked is I probably know where you're going with all your queries. You want to have an alternative entry to Australia other than being an RN. But to tell you the truth, being an RN is probably your safer and easier bet. Although that doesn't mean it's "easy" per se.

Specializes in EENT, MS, Aged Care.

Do you mean that in your 2.5 years of experience, you entered several jobs that you indicated?

You do not qualify for any occupation that you have had not had education and experience. One cannot just 'throw' a qualification at a jobs and state my nursing degree and experience plus business degree should cover this and this oh and that job as well.

All of the above occupations have qualifications specific and experience to each of them and some of them need a specific degree such as ambulance officer.

The answer is no, Vetassess would not give you a positive result for any accept nurse manager which is the only occupation you come close to and ANMAC would need to assess you for that.
