Hello,
I am graduating in two weeks from a school in Pennsylvania. I want to make sure I have all my requirements for when I register for Pearson vue and Florida State Board of Nursing. I have been researching the fingerprinting process for out of state applicants and am so confused. Do I have to get hard fingerprint cards (and where?) and have my finger printing done locally, and then send them to a company that makes them electronic, and then do they send them to the state? I am so unclear on this process and was wondering if anyone has been through it and could offer some advice on what worked out.
Edit: I keep seeing posts about Live Scan. I have a facility near me that does Live scan and fingerprinting...is that acceptable or does it have to be a Florida service???? How do I get my results to florida?
thank you!

I had the same headache moving from NJ to FL. There will be a list of companies, and what I did was Google each until I found one with locations near me. It was actually at a UPS store and they were able to fingerprint me electronically.

It depends on FL's requirements. I just recently got my OR license (NY originally) and they used Fieldprint, so I went to a local UPS with 2 forms of ID and it took about 2 minutes. I know some states do require actual finger print cards, so it really just depends. Go through the application process and it SHOULD spell it out pretty clearly what you need to do, but maybe some others with FL licenses have better input than I
Thank you both for the info! I found a Fieldprint service near me that will Livescan and photograph and send them right to Florida. Apparently Fieldprint is in all 50 states and skips the extra step of having to send it to a separate Florida service to transfer it to the department.

Hey! I too am graduating this May and applying for licensure in Florida. Did you end up having to use a hard copy scan also in addition to the live scan?
Hey! So I ended up using Fieldprint, which has locations in all 50 states. They did the Livescan and photograph right there and was sent straight to the Florida department of law enforcement. I would highly suggest this method because it saves you a couple steps and the hassle of hard cards and finding a service in florida that will convert them. I think it was $70 or $80? But you sign up online and just select all the information related to Florida (there are instructions on the florida BON website with the correct ORI numbers).
